Landscape for Life™
The Landscape for Life™ program was developed by United States Botanic Garden and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, based on the principles of the Sustainable SITES Initiative (SITES®). The program is now a collaboration between Colorado State University Extension and the United States Botanic Garden.
United States Botanic Garden
The United States Botanic Garden (USBG) is the oldest continuously operating public garden in the United States, established by Congress in 1820. The U.S. Botanic Garden inspires people to appreciate, study and conserve plants to enrich society locally and globally. With over a million visitors annually, the USBG strives to demonstrate and promote sustainable practices. It is a living plant museum accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and Botanic Gardens Conservation International. USBG.gov.
Colorado State University
Six years before Colorado became a state, in 1870, the territorial governor authorized the creation of Colorado’s own Land Grant University — the Agricultural College of Colorado, which would later become Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
