About Landscape for Life™

A vibrant wildflower meadow in full bloom, showcasing an array of colorful flowers including blue cornflowers, red poppies, and yellow daisies, with green trees and a wooden fence in the blurred background.

Whether you’re ready to dive into comprehensive online training or curious to explore new topics, Landscape for Life™ is your go-to resource for learning how to design sustainable landscapes that support both your needs and surrounding ecosystems.

Landscape For Life™ is a unique educational program based on the principles of the Sustainable SITES Initiative™ program (SITES®), the nation’s first rating system for sustainable landscapes. SITES® was developed as an interdisciplinary effort led by the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at The University of Texas at Austin, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the United States Botanic Garden in conjunction with a diverse group of stakeholder organizations.

The program is now a collaboration between Colorado State University Extension and the United States Botanic Garden.

Access online, on-demand training

Landscape For Life™ training is offered fully online via self-paced courses, giving you the flexibility to start any time and learn on your own schedule. Learners who complete a Landscape for Life™ program bundle may request a certificate of completion, offered by the United States Botanic Garden and Colorado State University Extension.
